Saving everything to the cloud is incredible. Everything backed up and shared… Sounds fab right? However, every month I can guarantee i’ll get a call from a family looking to make sure their ‘Cloud’ is working for them. It can be frustrating and confusing making sure all your data is backed up and shared the correct way with all the members in your household. So today I thought i’d share a plan I just made for a family of 4 in Winchester, Hampshire. Maybe this could work for you too…
As head of the house, mum want’s to back up the huge Photo library of 12,000 images. She also has lots of documents, contacts and videos to back up too. We decided to use iCloud with 100gb plan at £2.49 per month. Everything now backs up and syncs with her phone too.

Keeping schoolwork safe and backed up is important. The ability to access documents at school would be a bonus too. We went for Google Drive which offers enough space with 15gb each. We were also able to backup all the kid’s photos from their iPhones using Google Photos which also helped free up space on their hand-me-down mobile devices.
All that dad wanted was to share a calendar with mum. iCloud calendar sharing solved this little problem. The calendars are now available on all their devices and dad can use iCloud.com on his windows PC if he wants too. The 5gb Free allowance for him was all he needed.
